Berklee Silent Film Orchestra: The Passion of St. Joan (Brookline, MA)

Rose performs the title role of “Joan of Arc” with the Berklee Silent Film Orchestra (BSFO) for the definitive version of Carl Theodor Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928). The BSFO will perform the world premiere of the new score, live to the 2017 restoration of the film, in the BSFO’s original venue, the Coolidge Corner Theatre, in Brookline, Massachusetts, on Thursday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. The score is the twelfth commission and film concert that Berklee has created for the Coolidge’s Sounds of Silents silent film series

Ensemble in Process: Bridge the GAP

Description

Ensemble in Process... will be a concert in 3 short sets: Brian Mark (piano), the Peridot Duo's Rose Hegele (soprano) from Boston, and the Marsyas Trio: Helen Vidovich (flute/alto flute), Valerie Welbanks (violoncello), and Olga Stezhko (piano) coming all the way from Great Britain. This 3 set concert will be called Bridge the GAP, as the curation will include a collaborative mix of British and American composers, since this is a special event with the Marsyas Trio coming from London. Ensemble in Process... originally commenced in London, UK from 17 of May of 2017. The US premiere of Ensemble in Process... had taken place at the 2019 Oh My Ears Festival in Phoenix, AZ (Ensemble in Loops) on 2 February, 2019.

Rose performs Excerpts from Freya Walley-Cohen’s "Little Poisonous Snakes" and Erin Gee’s Mouthpiece I and IV.

Tickets are $15 to $20 each.

FogxFlo at the Emerald Necklace

silence | visible is a 7 minute work composed and directed by Lucy Yao for quartet with flutes and voices specifically written in response to Fujiko Malaya’s fog sculptures. The piece aims to collaborate with Fog and its amorphous qualities and engage in a dialogue with nature’s fluctuating variables. There will be two performances of this multi-disciplinary work on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 and 2:00 at Fog x Canopy, close to the Isabella Stewart museum. Fog x Canopy is one of the five fog installation sites at the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. More info on directions to Fog x Canopy can be found here:
